This is my Writer’s Workshop final portfolio - my theme is a rhymebook.
It’s 40 pages of various raps and poems I’ve written, basically an anthology.
When Ms. Thoms told us to put a lot of work into it and really be proud of the final product, I was just like, “Whatever.” But when I actually started working on it, it got to be pretty fun and I actually got really into it.
It’s now something that I can actually be proud of - I put a lot of work into this!

Whenever I watch TV with my parents
and a song plays they always start humming to it, even if they’ve never heard the song before (which is usually the case).
This ends up with them humming a totally different melody that sounds nothing like the original, even though they keep trying to get it right - which never happens.
I always stare at them like “why are they doing this?”
One time —‘s looseleaf papers and dividers all fell out of his binder, and instead of putting them back in section by section, he told me he could put it back all at once.
I obviously didn’t believe him and watched in awe as he took everything, stacked it together, and put it on his rings in one motion.
I had never been that envious of anybody before.
I was too lazy
to eat cheese with a fork, so I just ate it straight off the knife and I cut my lip.
My lip hurts now.
